What we fix

Most calls are one of these six. If yours isn't, ask anyway: if it carries water or drains it away, it's probably ours.

Plumbing tools and copper fittings laid out on a workbench

Hear it. See it. Smell it.

Plumbing problems announce themselves early. Here's what the usual signs tend to mean, and how worried to be. The gauge shows how soon to act.

A damp patch spreading on the ceiling

Water is pooling above it. Turn off the stopcock, keep the lights under it switched off, and get in touch straight away. This one doesn't wait.

Act today

A drip you can hear but can't find

Usually a slow leak behind a wall or under a floor. It won't flood the house, but it soaks joists and plaster for months. We locate it with moisture readings before opening anything up.

Gurgling drains or a sewer smell

Air is being pulled through a trap because something downstream is partly blocked, or a vent is. Caught now it's a quick clearance. Left alone it becomes a backup.

Water pressure that suddenly dropped

If it's the whole house, it's often a failing pressure valve or a leak on the supply. If it's one tap, it's usually a clogged aerator or valve, and a quick fix.

Hot water runs out too fast

Sediment in the tank, a tired heating element, or a tank that's simply too small for the household now. Annoying rather than dangerous, and we'll tell you which it is.

When it suits you

A toilet that never stops running

A worn flapper or fill valve. It quietly wastes a lot of water every day, but it's one of the cheapest fixes we do.

Soldered once.

How a job goes

No mystery, no surprise invoice. The same four steps on every job, from a dripping tap to a new bathroom.

  1. You tell us what's wrong

Use the quote form below. A photo of the problem helps more than you'd think. We reply with questions or a first estimate.

  2. We come and look

We diagnose on site, show you what we found and explain your options in plain words, including the cheaper one.

  3. You get a fixed price

Written down before any work starts. If we find something unexpected, we stop and ask. The price never changes behind your back.

  4. Fixed, tested, tidied

Every joint is pressure-tested, every drain is run, and the floor is cleaner than when we arrived.
